Ten thousand years ago, the eternal void held a spark of sentience, and from that was born Szurane. The void could not partake of the existance, but wished to regain its children unto itself. It placed upon the world a terrible Sun Devil to destroy it; but the Great Mother was also benevolent, and placed a Moon god to rival him. For thousands of years they have battled, exchanging power and creating servants; the Sun Devil created five servants, and in slaying the Lunar God, she created four of her own. Over time, the gods have been shattered, sealed, or have gone into hiding; the demons reigned supreme and caused chaos in many wars. Recently, however, their numbers have been diminished and they grow desperate.
Humans are caught in the middle of this eternal struggle. These devils feed on the anguish of human existance, and seek to return everything to chaos and void. There are those who fight for their world and their life. Will you be one? Will you fight for destruction? Or will you live on without?
The demons have turned against themselves, even their hierarchy torn; the Sun Devil has been vanquished, replaced with the New Devil and his traitorous servants. These servants infiltrated humanity, drove kingdoms to war, and shattered the greatest empires known to civilization. The world is in turmoil. The spiritual hierarchies are in turmoil. And, amidst the current commotion, a new one arises: A once self-standing universe has been bound into a larger multiverse by one villainous devil seeking new power, new worlds to destroy, and ultimate destruction. Formerly entirely medeival, now many worlds bleed into Szurane, with the results to be discovered.

ECHO:
Rumea and Zento explore the Red Ring and find strange experiments of sanguination. Zento betrays Rumea, Rumea ends in prison
Rumea escapes, escaping her bounty by running through the Dark Gate to the Nexus.
Rumea encounters Fox and Minerva, before returning to Szurane and acquiring a "guardian" named Jintoharu, a swordsman with a legendary sword.
Rumea hears of a tournament over the God's Crypt and attends.
Rumea loses. Zento wins. The divine stone shatters in the priest's hands to his surprise.
The God's Crypt's Flarelord Power imbues itself in a priestess named Shizuka.
Byrock, an important dragon, gathers tournament goers on a quest to get the Turtle Guard. Rumea, Zento, Shizuka and others follow.
Byrock's temper causes heavier bounties upon the group as they travel north.
Darston Ehu the Demon Duke of Earth is sealed beneath the Turtle Guard's power and awakens.
The group defeats Darston Ehu, though nobody's quite sure exactly how. Exhausted, fainted and wartorn, they continued.
Returning to mainland, they discover their bounties, and find themselves pursued by a hunter. Eventually, they find this hunter wounded and help him. The amnesiac is named Rain, and travels with them.
Escaping through a mountain pass under the scopes of hunters, they leave Byrock behind. Reunion with Fox and Minerva
Plushie attack at a giant tower; the Phoenix Talons are discovered and given to Rumea.
A noble party in the Blomsfuld Capitol is the lead on a piece of the God's Crypt. Rain's other half--apparently a former spirit now divided--holds it hostage in exchange for another mission he cannot do.
The group goes to the Trospan Islands in search of the chaos sword Sanmittai. Challenges ensue.
The group acquires neither Sanmittai or the new God's Crypt, but instead finds themselves in a battle with the fearful Demon Duke of Fire, Flaebeath Zebial.
Zento, now known as a demon, is betraying his demon hierarchy, Zebial being the second sacrifice.
Narrowly surviving Zebial, the group returns to main land, only for the Demon King Hel Crux Tenkiyogudo to be waiting for their return. Another narrow victory saves their lives.
The group avoids their bounties by spending a few weeks in the Nexus.
RALLY:
When the group returns from their vacation, they're surprised to see years have blown by in their world.
A mysterious, necromantic fog covers most of the civilized world, causing madness.
During their absence, a weapons dealer named Santhis Ra'Alish arrived in Amefri, giving stones and incantations to repel the fog from cities.
By their arrival, there are whispers of war. Heading to Mervania for a safe overshores region, they find it under siege, crumbling to the power of the lunar knight Adeline. Leading the refuges to safety in a desert fort, their best efforts fail them against the great solar knight Alrick; the fort is destroyed, and thousands of lives taken to a summon. A familiar blue dragon... Zento? Not quite, but... close.
During their sail, Soujiro, Rain's other half, gives the revelation that he almost assassinated Shizuka at one point; Rain flees.
An attempted return to mainland crashlands them in the mountains. They find a tour guide named Kuzu Kaza, who attempts to ditch them in the mountains. Hunting him down, the thief joins their party.
Subtle guidance from a blue haired nobleman directs Kuzu and the group to Ranid, a city holding a large festival and housing a secret, underground civilization of the chaos spirits--recovering Rain, eventually.
News spreads of the dual assassination of Amefri's Elder Prince, and its advisor Santhis.
The next city in line, back to the city of Fen-Huan, finds the power of the Fire God, from the God's Crypt, being used as a summon. Escaping the chaos, they leave with useful information: Santhis lives, is a devil servant of Zento, now Zenthus, and the war is only the precursor to a larger plot.
Returning to the Dark Gate, they find the worlds directly overlapped with another plane. A Demon Queen named Chaotic Blue is scheduled to be resurrected, only to be thrown into the unstable portal and spread void and chaos across both worlds.
The plot fails. After an enlightening moment at the source of creation, the group returns--only for Santhis to pop up and steal Shizuka towards the Isle, giving directions and luring them.
Amefri is alerted of the treachery. An armada sails out towards Zenthus' Isle.
Only a group of four people reach the end of his powerful dungeons, ultimately smiting him and losing. His plot, still secret, did not succeed or even launch.
RETURN:
The group's efforts in the seige against the Serpentmaster earn them a pardon of their bounties.
The king dies, ripping off armor given to him by Santhis in a fury and being killed by it; elder prince dead, that leaves the 13 year old son running the empire, falling to pieces from their lack of trust in the great nation. Amefri falls to pieces, maintaining a few of their larger city states.
New bounties are placed by "Aleister Hakakotaru", dwarfing the original sums, and all on the group responsible for Zenthus' death but under the premise of stolen items. Most items were actually taken, save for the reference of the Ssu-Ling Manuscript, a legendary lost tome.
The group searches out the Manuscript at the Amefri Ruins with the ironic aid of Irthos--a tall, gangly but familiar looking man "working for" Aleister but seeming none too pleased with him, finding them and reading a cryptic message of the future.
A quest to collect the holy weapons begins. Already possessing the Phoenix Talons (Rumea), Turtle Guard (Humez), and DragonSteel (Jintoharu), it leaves finding the Dragon Wings (sealed underwater) and Tiger Eye (held by a hiding god).
The plot thickens. The remaining pieces of the shattered Demon King Hel Crux are vanishing--and reawakening. The King seeks to return whole.
Irthos turns out to be Zenthus, who feigned his death to trick the old hierarchy; Aleister is another Demon Duke from his set, named Lifemaster Zom. It becomes a battle of two evils, with humans between.
Rumea finds herself... taken. Narrowly rescued, but broken. In her heart lies a piece of the evil she fought.
When the weapons gather, Minerva becomes the foundation; the former mind of Meiphied the Lunar Dragon God, the divine elements bind into her and reawakens her in her former form. Hel Crux and Meiphied annihilate each other.
A pearly egg is left, adopted by Shizuka to raise, with Humez following. The group disbands on their own business.
END:
Contaminants of the Tide, Szurane's "lifestream", draw Zenthus' attention.
Amidst a violent war, a bit of void is injected to the tide. It grows, consumes, absorbs the planet and extends to the universe.
The Universe of Szurane is destroyed by Zenthus.
Some characters escape through various portals to the Nexus again, wreaking havoc and living their own lives.
Santhis encounters Erodious and, after a thorough beating, becomes an understudy. Erodious eventually finds out about Zenthus.
After harvesting power, Zenthus comes back even ahead of schedule. And with him, the world recycles; it would have done so anyway, but that was a... driving point.
Szurane returns with the same physical memories and mortal hands, but all the dark lords that were vanquished return, and the time of the first spiritual treachery among the demons is just now beginning. The cycle renews.
ECHO, pt II
A tournament over the God's Crypt begins, though the prize is last minute replaced by the Staff of Sorrow.
Chaos erupts. The Sanguinarian--a war with half demon beasts formed under the power of Demon Dukes--erupts at the tournament again. Only this time, it's two unidentified types and implies two new Dark Lords.
Sukibara gathers a troupe of explorers to head north and unseal Ehu.
[And from there, we continue...]
