Zelgadis

Gender: Male

Heartless Mystical Swordsman
Zelgadis "Zel" Greywords

| Sapphire eyes | Lavender hair | Ageless | Chimera | Stands 5 ft. 9 in. | Weighs a ton |

Zelgadis is notable for his determination, focus, and strength of will, as well as his obsession with regaining his human form. He is quiet, distant and aloof, very much a lone wolf type. Zelgadis can be very commanding and adept at getting people to do what he either wants or needs them to do in order to accomplish the objective at hands, very much an ends-justifies-the-means person. At the same time, he becomes frustrated very easily, especially when his comrades are incapable of focusing themselves long enough to either solve the problem at hand or solve his own. Another notable aspect of Zelgadis is his arrogance - a highly skilled shaman magic user, Zelgadis is good and he knows it. His confidence and self-assurance often borders on arrogance, but for the most part, he has the goods to back it up. He also frequently behaves in a selfish, almost holier-than-thou manner, as if the suffering of others does not even begin to compare with his own, and frequently puts his own needs before his friends--likely another factor in his reactions to the absurdity that surrounds him. Though he gradually warms up to his friends, but Zelgadis still maintains a quiet, droll disposition.

It should be noted that Zelgadis is...

... partly responsible for the fall of Shabranigdo.
... Dean of the Academy of Magic and Combat.
... a mercenary swordsman and numinous healer.

Black Mithril: Weapons crafted from this material hold an edge that is forever sharp and resistant to rust as well as acids; the material is strongly resilient to magic and energy, withstanding an extremely high level of pressure brought on by physical or other than physical means.
Tooth: Grants the blade affinity with Zelgadis and his magic, also acts as a constant enchantment of the Astral Vine spell.
Moon Crystal: Potent magical crystal that aids in intensifying all magical effects.

Zelgadis' Gun: Severance

- Ruger Super Redhawk with 9 1/2 barrel. Used as a sidearm. Enchanted.
- Draws power from the user, which fires magical energy in place of ammunition. Unlimited.
- Can fire a spell without the time consuming creation of it, often used to conserve his magical energies.
- A person quite capable of using ordinary magic might use the gun to supplement his or her abilities. Anyone with magical powers can use it.

Zelgadis was nose to nose with the monster. And he knew what was coming, what answer he would be given. In knowing, didn’t serve to sedate the anger and hate he had this man. Saying that Zelgadis didn’t ‘like’ Xelloss was an understatement! No words could describe the grief, the sense of betrayal and injustice this one caused him. Over the years, it was just one folly after another. Or, was it Xelloss who had a divine hand with everything? Even the thought of that made more of a monster out of Zelgadis, even if he wasn’t a chimera, all blue and stony. The answer, once given, encouraged the rage to simmer over and unless stopped, Zelgadis would have pried one hand from the monster’s collar, draw it back in a tightly balled fist – ready to strike. And he would have, if it weren’t for Cole's intervention, who simply had to break his concentration and focus of seething hate with something as suggestive as being married to this dementedly twisted thing he had in his death grip. “Stay out of it.” Zelgadis commanded. Blue lips peeling back, revealing a perfectly white set of teeth gritting against themselves as he practically growled. The chimera’s suffered from tunnel vision, with blinders on, only intent on focusing on what he had planned to do that he had forgotten completely, just who, or in this case, what he was up against. Surely, that gesture of simplicity was enough to have his grip loosen and he himself, winded by such an impact. Then and there, he doubled over, perhaps a few feet away? Fff— to anyone else, their arm would have more or less flown clean off, but him? No, hardly a dent, or rather chip. It wasn’t to say that it didn’t hurt! What hurt the most however, was his pride. If he had his way, Xelloss would have been dealt with long ago. But then, the mention of Lina’s name was enough for volcanic explosion to cease and desist with only mild rain of hateful ash lingering in the form of tension between the three of them. It was stagnant in the air, though short lived. “…haven’t seen her in years.” Well, it was years to him, but more than likely one or two for her. So, she was still alive and well, was she? He wouldn’t have expected anything different. Who was he kidding? Lina was more than capable of taking care of herself, considering she had this uncanny ability to blow up entire Kingdoms, including their home world. Why was Zelgadis so relieved to hear that though? A sense of nostalgia, perhaps?

Sample Post II

Zelgadis was still in motion from the initial hit and miss. Adjusting his stance, thick sole boots gripped at the ground for traction in order to accommodate the extra weight caused by the sword's swing. He made quick use of his free arm by extending the limb straight out before him, fingers fanned with his palm directed at her. He wasted no time casting an instantaneous spell. Magical energies concentrated against the palm quickly formed a spherical shape and glowing crimson. Soon the crimson color took on a fiery appearance. The sphere took on the characteristics of the element. Flickering and dancing, casting shadows over Zelgadis' face, making him appear more sinister. "Fireball!" The words spoken commanded the ball of fire to catapult forward and jet stream at her. Should it hit her, the ball would explode on contact, spreading flames outwards, engulfing everything--should she avoid it, deflect it... from someone far away... the explosion would be massive and lit the entire area--and brightly against the darkened sky. The smoke would coil and curl into the sky high above treetops; the impact quite devastating that if she were not careful, her precious little symbols of conjuring may not survive. Zelgadis made quick footwork to propel himself away from the area of impact, making sure not to be caught in it. Hell! The man did not wait for her to finish talking. His actions were quite merciless and with no hesitation. He rather the job done and end the game while he had the chance then to have to deal with the endless prattle of a talent-less witch who had a pension for sweet talk than action.
