I'm not sure but I imagine such a thing would take a great deal of coding and testing over and over again, not to mention might increase the servers monthly bandwidth cost that we already need to ask for donations on a fairly frequent basis as is. So I'm not sure if it's possible or feasible to make it so that you simply can't pick a name, if that's not what you were driving at please feel free to dis-regard this. |

I imagine that initially it will be a bit of work, however it shouldn't be any harder then when certain characters/letters/what-have-you where unallowed to be used in character names. As for the bandwidth, admittedly, the second idea wasn't that great.
If they can make it where Perma-Ban names where unallowed just like certain letters in names, then in the long run it would take care of admins having to go a bit out of their way to help someone who didn't bother to look at the ban names before creating a character, nor can I really see how blocking certain kinds of names during registration could add to bandwidth short of what the perma-ban is already accomplishing. If you have the ability to perma-ban the name, then blocking out that name during registration shouldn't eat up any bandwidth, especially if you have it coded in to instantly apply the block as soon as the name was banned.
Or, at the very least, have something in the registration pop-up that can link to the list of banned names, or simply refers to it. Of course, this problem would be easily solved by us just looking at the list first >.>;

I have gotten banned and I would like to know for what. If it was because of my email, then I feel that I should of been notified that it was inappropriate. Although I feel if MSN which is widely used. Then I should not have to feel that was the problem. The name I entered in as was Roxy. For a friend, yet for some reason I got banned probably because of it. Please get back to me asap.
