Ok, I'm posting this here as an example. Not asking to mimic my posting style, but just as a reference:

Solomon “Sleeze” Markonin  -  Vandre Station, 16th Floor, Room

It all sounded very interesting. Trying to find out what happened to a Magos – A Magos! - who suddenly stopped communications while dealing with Xenos artefacts. Sleeze had run into Xenos things more than once in his run of things. He knew the problems that came with them, and he was always rather quick to hand them off. Gelt. Now Gelt was good. Xenos bad, Gelt good.

This was sizing up to be a good adventure. Of course, there was the all-too-real chance that the Magos would blow up the Rogue Trader's ship on arrival – the Mechanicus weren't known for being too accepting of outsiders and were so very protective of their secrets. But he had hope.

He turns to to the Arbite, and offers his scummy hand with an equally scummy grin of scummy teeth. “Sleeze Markonin, Hive Dweller Extraordinaire.” He'll shake, if the man takes it, or simply drop his hand back down to his side.

“Well. We have thirty-eight hours before we're expected to be heading off. Unless you all want to play catch-up, I'm going to go find myself a bit of a drink and some food.”

And, well, if there's nothing to the contrary, that's what he'll do. He'll head down into the deeper levels of Vandre Station, and he'll try and dig up some food, some drink, and a little fun in the time he has before they go – and, of course, some information if he can.

Aaah, yes. It was like being back at home. He'll find the seedier people, and he'll imbibe slightly, and he'll talk and enjoy himself. But he'll probe for what information he can – information on this “Villers”, rumors about the rogue Magos, word around the sector on any Xenos artefacts that may be passing around.

This is my first time playing Dark Heresy, so I'm a little unsure on when I'll be expected to roll or what not. If Sleeze is allowed to go about, I'd like to try pick up rumors among the less seemly folks about as much as I can. I'll do an Inquiry roll, and list it below. If I'm not supposed to or something, disregard and help me suck less.

You guys need to take the initiative. I'm the GM, but you guys are the players and thus the storytellers - I just make settings and try to keep everything fun and enjoyable. You need to tell ME what YOU where you want to go, what you want to do, and how you want to do it. Dark Heresy is very open-ended and just doing generic "I want to go some places" isn't very interesting or exciting for anyone.

Help me help keep things fun and interesting by launching into whatever you want. There's really nothing you can do wrong, just things that'll make your character wind up dead.

Also, just another note, since I'm FILLING this thread with them apparently:

Once you hot Joqur, I'll be changing the rules slightly. From then on in, when you leave wherever you're character is staying out, you will need to describe what your character is bringing - not every last item, but generically.

I.E., if you're going to some sort of formal arrangement for whatever reason - you're not going to go with a helmet on and full armor and your autorifle strapped across your back, because you'll freak people out and they'll look at you like you're crazy and not want to talk to you.

However, if you're going around the slums - most types of armor, like flak jackets and the likes, can be worn as part of an outfit. It fits in and, in fact, most people probably won't notice it all. Other armors (like meshes, body gloves) are light enough to be worn under neath your clothes, thus completely masking it from view.

And when you're on the war path, or if it's appropriate for whoever you're posing on, you can lug around your full arsenal.

The only reason I'm bringing it up is because if you're just walking around with a helmet on and a huge gun, people aren't gonna want to divulge information and probably won't deal with you in a friendly manner.

As a heads up, I am going to be traveling over the weekend, so my latest post is probably going to be the only thing I can put up until Sunday night, possibly monday morning (depending on how bad traveling is). People should feel free to just play on around me, and I'm comfortable letting Sid stand in on anything Skive really has to react to.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up so you didn't think I was dead/gone/etc.

Rums, Ati, and Ketch all need to speed up their postings. I don't want to sound like a jerk or an asshole but you should all be able to manage at least once post every 2-3 days, otherwise the game slows down to a snail place that's not fun for anyone and I need to nag a lot. Please, please don't make me threaten or actually boot people to speed up the game a little. It only takes 10-20 minutes to post, 30~ or so if you need to look at the rulebook. I see all of you online for longer then that at times, and I know you can take that time to whip up a post here and there.

So please post more often so we can get this ball rolling. I don't want to remove anyone.
